UNIFORM KITS

Running Shorts

UPDATE - The ever-resourceful Greg Dawson has acquired the appropriate number of size XL running shorts. For those that need them, they will be available for pickup when you arrive in Berlin.

Most of you will be receiving your Final Leg uniform kits in the coming days. The kits contain a backpack (more on that below), two polo shirts, four running shirts, two running shorts, a jacket, and a moisture wicking cap.

For those of you who requested size XL running shorts (like me), you’ll note they are NOT in your kit. Due to supply chain issues, we were not able to acquire enough to fulfill our order from the vendor. We are in the process of working on a solution and you will likely receive your running shorts in Berlin.

All of you will receive your running socks when you arrive in Berlin as well.

A couple of notes regarding the uniform kits: each day, we will have a “uniform of the day,” which will be announced in our Operations Guide that will be completed in early May. All of the uniform pieces are required to be worn. In another words, you cannot substitute your own socks, shorts, or any other uniform piece. We are a team and will look as “uniform” as possible each day.

On another note, some of you may be accustomed to running in leggings, which will not be permitted during our Final Leg runs. The weather will be warm during the majority of our runs, so if chafing is an issue, we encourage you to wear compression shorts that are complimentary to the shorts you have been provided. The running shorts are traditional running shorts, so any undergarment should not extend too far below the bottom of the short. If you choose to wear compression shorts, they must be solid black, with no other visible coloring, stripes, or logos.

Back Packs

We are excited to provide a “tactical” backpack to each of you. It’s a very contemporary look, and the pack is of very high quality. Rather than have the pack embroidered, we have provided a Final Leg patch, which is the same type many of you wear on your law enforcement uniforms. The Velcro backing on the patch enables it to be easily affixed to the pack. We are confident that the patches will be extremely popular for trading and used as gifts. Each of you will be provided one additional patch for that purpose.

We also believe that many of you would like to purchase additional patches for your personal use. Those will be made available in the coming days via an order link, which we will publish in the blog. The patches will be $10 each.

Many more updates to follow as plans continue to solidify every day. As always, please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

  2. Do we have a timeline of when we will be able to order extra patches and whether they will be shipped to us prior to the run or if they will be sent to Berlin?
